Several Redmi and Xiaomi Phones Receive Native Call Recording Support
Though Google’s Phone app fulfills the basic criteria to qualify as a Phone calling app, it misses a major feature of recording the phone calls. Recording calls can be handy for users who often save them for future proofs. While this has been an automatic feature for many, some leave it to users’ discretion. Since this is a major feature in any phone calling app, having it by default is expected by users instead of installing a third-party app. Thus, Google’s found to be trailing with this feature in its native Phone app back in January and even pushed to some devices like Pixel and Nokia. Yet, it still ignored for other non-Pixel devices. But now, it seems to be coming for Xiaomi devices many have reported to have seen this in their phone app, particularly in devices like Note 8 Pro, 9 Pro, Note 9S, Mi 9T Pro, etc. But, many have also reported that it’s disappearing when the phone’s rebooted. Since it sounds like server-side testing yet, it would take no longer to receive a stable update of the phone app with this feature. Xiaomi’s bloatware – MIUI has its phone app for all its devices which supports call recording by default. But, recent phones from Xiaomi to all markets excluding Indonesia, India, and China are shipped without the Xiaomi phone app, but with Google’s Phone app. Thus, those users missing this feature is still an ill fate.
